Tel est le point de départ de "Fables" dans lequel Blanche Neige, le grand méchant loup ou Pinocchio ont été chassés de leur monde d'origine par un mystérieux adversaire et se sont réfugiés dans le monde des humains ! Si Blanche Neige peut facilement se fondre parmi les humains, les 3 petits cochons ou les soldats de bois n'ont d'autre choix que de se cacher reclus dans "La Ferme"...
Avec ce concept étonnant, la série Fables fait parti des séries à succès du comics US depuis son lancement en 2002 avec le développement de séries parallèles comme Fairest qui met en scène la rencontre entre Ali Baba et la Belle au bois dormant.
